Second Semester One-Year Catechist
Certificate Program

2. The Mystery of Baptism
3. The Mystery of Marriage
4. Issues of Morality and Ethics in Marriage
5. Basics of Orthodox Pedagogy
6. The Practice of Parish Catechisation
7. Spiritual and Moral Education and Teaching
Basics of the Faith to Children in Sunday School
Students who successfully complete the one-year catechist program may enroll in the second year courses of the Orthodox Studies major. Those who successfully complete both years of coursework will be granted the diploma in Orthodox Studies. However, potential catechists may also choose to take Liturgics (111) or other summer course offerings to acquire additional knowledge in a given area of study. These courses are not required, but are available for those in the catechist program wishing to broaden or deepen their knowledge in a particular area of interest.
